Taking place at Your Garden

Are you a Keen gardener?

Would you like to share your garden with others to help St Andrew's Children's Hospice?

Over the last 3 years, keen gardeners from across the whole of our catchment area have held open garden days in aid of the Hospice, between them raising over £20,000.00.  We are hoping that in 2015, we will have an even greater number of gardens opening their gates and if you would like to take part, we would love to hear from you.

It doesn't matter whether you have several acres or just a pocket handkerchief sized plot.  Whether your garden is beautifully landscaped or simply a patch of green suitable for holding a garden party, strawberry evening or afternoon tea.  If you are happy to welcome people into your garden, then you can take part and by doing so can help us to raise the money needed to enable us to continue to provide care and support for local families.

As well as raising vital funds for the Hospice, you will be helping us by raising awareness of the Hospice in your area.

If I open my garden what support will I get?

Publicity
We will send details of your event to the local press and radio stations.  We will also upload details onto various online event guides and publicise on the Hospice website and social media sites.

Posters
We will produce publicity posters to advertise your event.

Signage
If you laminated posters for your gates or laminated warning, or other, signs for your garden, we can produce these for you.

Insurance
If you are not covered by your own insurance for your open garden event, then we can provide cover under the Hospice's insurance policy, subject to a Hospice representative carrying out a risk assessment on your garden prior to the event.

If possible a representative from the Hospice will visit your garden on the day.  Please bear in mind though that many events take place on spring and summer weekends and whilst we will attend if we possibly can, we cannot promise attendance.

Unfortunately, one thing we cannot offer is volunteers to help on the day, but if you have a real problem with this, please let us know and we will help if we can.

If you would like to get involved and open your garden to help the Hospice, please give us a call, we will be delighted to hear from you.
