If you have ever fancied yourself as a superhero and want to tackle the ultimate challenge of a skydive then Andy’s at St Andrew’s Hospice has just the event for you.

If you have ever fancied yourself as a superhero and want to tackle the ultimate challenge of a skydive then Andy’s at St Andrew’s Hospice has just the event for you.

Daredevils and thrillseekers aged 16 and over are being urged to book their place before it’s too late, on what is one of the most popular challenges the hospice organises.

The Superhero Skydive will take place at Hibaldstow Airfield, near Brigg in North Lincolnshire on Saturday 12 May from 9.30am and registration is open now.

Vicky Girdlestone, 25, took part last year. She was inspired to take part because her late father received support from St Andrew’s Hospice.

She said: “Last year my father spent some time at St Andrew's Hospice and I always found the place and staff to be super friendly and supportive.

“My father gained so much confidence during his time and it was a lovely for the family to see.

“I have also being taking bereavement counselling sessions since January 2017 and attending the sessions has helped me massively with my father's passing.

“The skydive was just a chance at raising money for an amazing cause as well as a once in a life time opportunity.”

Vicky raised over £600 for the hospice and admits the satisfaction of raising money for a good cause helped her overcome any fears she may have had of taking on the dive.

She continued: “You will not regret it – it is one of the best experiences you will ever come across.

“Raising money for something that matters to you takes away the fears.

“You know the reason you're doing it and that is all that matters.

“I'm thankful for St Andrew's for multiple reasons and raising over £600 was just a small token of my appreciation.”

Registration for the Superhero Skydive is open now. Participants must raise a minimum of £409 in sponsorship, which includes the £209 skydive fee.
