We have volunteering vacancies to support our therapeutic activities...

Volunteers support all areas of the hospice, from reception and administration to supporting patients, working in our shops and fundraising.

We are currently seeking volunteers to support therapeutic activities within the hospice, specifically for the following activities:

Art & Craft sessions and Creating Memories workshop (Mondays)

Are you creative with plenty of practical skills that you would be confident to share?  Our art & craft workshop needs volunteers who would be able to turn their hands to most forms of artwork and paper/fabric/clay based craft work, and who would enthuse and enable patients to explore their own creativity in creating legacies.  Examples are decoupage, paper crafts, working with fabrics, simple clay modelling, glass decorating, collage, or journal making and such like, along with drawing and painting.

Creative writing (Thursdays)

Could you inspire a group of patients to explore writing poetry/prose for creative expression and capturing memories?

Garden club (Thursdays)

Do you have basic gardening skills, particularly experience of growing vegetables that you would enjoy sharing, whilst assisting patients to maintain vegetable beds and a greenhouse?

Baking/basic cookery skills

Would you enjoy sharing your basic cooking/baking skills to enable others and also support reminiscence baking sessions?  This is something we would like to develop but need your help.

We would also love to hear from anyone who perhaps can’t commit on a weekly basis but could offer a demonstration or short workshop.

To apply for any of these vacancies or for more information, please call 01472 350908.
