Cromwell Social Club has raised £1,300 in memory of member Paul White.

Here's a big thank-you to Cromwell Social Club, Grimsby, for raising £1,300 in memory of long-time member Paul White.

His wife, Doreen, passed away two years ago after receiving care at the hospice for cancer, and unbeknown to the rest of the family, Paul donated regularly to the hospice until he himself passed away in July.

Paul, a huge sports fan, married Doreen in 2004. She was a barmaid at the social club, and Paul pursued her for a date for about ten years until she finally said yes. Doreen was awarded an MBE in 2013 for services to education, an honour she and the family were very proud of of.

In Paul's memory, the club has raised the donation through cake sales and other means. Doreen's daughter Denise Mair and granddaughter Kelly (pictured) came to the hospice on the second anniversary of Doreen's passing to present the money.

Thank you to Doreen and Paul's family and the social club for your fantastic contribution.
