The annual four-day Scumrun charity drive sees teams in modified vehicles and fancy dress travel hundreds of miles for charity.

Scumrun, the original banger driving rally event, has chosen to support Together for Short Lives, the UK-wide charity which supports families caring for children with life-shortening conditions, for their 2017 event.

The annual four-day Scumrun car rally sees teams, in creatively modified vehicles and fancy dress, travel hundreds of miles across stunning European roads, with the aim of raising thousands of pounds for the charity. Leaving from the UK on May 11th, the tour has secret destinations that are announced each morning and prizes for the teams to win.

The money raised by Scumrun teams will go towards supporting children’s hospices, including Andy's at St Andrew's Hospice, to provide the best possible care for seriously ill children. Hospices all rely heavily on help from the public and donations are vital to make sure that children with life shortening conditions can live the best life they can, for as long as they can.

Stephen Ballantyne, director of fundraising at Together for Short Lives, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Scumrun’s official charity partner in 2017. The money raised by the teams taking part in this epic four-day challenge will help families across the UK who are caring for a seriously ill child to make the most of their precious time together."

Edward White, Scumrun’s founder, added: “We’re really excited to be supporting such a fantastic charity whose work supports the lives of so many families. It’s great to know that the money raised by this event will help seriously ill children and their families across the UK to get the care and support they need to make every moment count.”
