Celebrating all that's great about the county...

Today is Lincolnshire Day... set up in 2006 to mark the anniversary of the Lincolnshire Rising. This was a revolt by Catholics against the establishment of the Church of England in 1536.

Being as Andy's is Lincolnshire's only children's hospice, it's only right that we celebrate Lincolnshire Day.

Here are some famous people from the county:

  • Sportsman Guy Martin
  • Actor Jim Broadbent
  • Scientist Sir Isaac Newton
  • Poet Laureate Alfred Lord Tennyson
  • Explorer Joseph Banks

And here are some other things we're famous for...

  • Red Arrows
  • Lincolnshire sausages
  • Lincolnshire Poacher cheese
  • The Magna Carta

And of course, most famous of all... Andy's! Click here for a list of our shops around the county.

Happy Lincolnshire Day to all!
