A new St Andrew’s Hospice retail outlet is set to open on one of the busiest routes in Grimsby.

A new St Andrew’s Hospice retail outlet is set to open on one of the busiest routes in Grimsby.

The shop at Bradley Cross Roads in the town has seen the redevelopment of a disused garage and sits next to commercial units that include Swift Autos and Co-operative foods.

Plans are in place to open the store on Monday 5 March and the hospice retail team are looking forward to serving the local community.

Visiting the new site the hospice’s Director of Business Development Lesley Charlesworth-Browne said:

“We are really excited to be opening this store in such a great location, which is perfect for parking – both to drop off donations and browse what will be a wide range of quality clothing for all the family, along with bric-a-brac, toys and much more.”

The new store takes the number of St Andrew’s retail outlets to 18 across Lincolnshire, Hull and the East Riding; this expansion assists the hospice in increasing and diversifying income streams to meet the growing need for the services at the hospice on Peaks Lane in Grimsby.

Lesley continued: “Running costs at the hospice currently stand at £4.8 million a year.

“The organisation has to find 82 per cent of that total.

“That is why it is so important that we see this increase in our retail offering, which is now a vital part of our income streams.

“In fact, shop and tea bar income was up 12 per cent between 2016 and 2017, which gives us a real reason to be optimistic for their future.”

Volunteers are needed to help in the running of the shop and a variety of positions are available, including shop assistants, window dressers and stock sorters.

If you can spare a few hours and are interested in getting involved then please contact St Andrew’s Hospice retail team on 01472 350 908 or 07809 329995.
