Hospice Representative Alison Lark was on hand at Thurlby Motors in Louth to pick up a cheque for over £1,100 from the organisation's recent charity ball.

The local car dealership raised £1,102.49 for Andy's at St Andrew's following a charity ball and auction held at Kenwick Park in Louth on Saturday 7 October.

Handing over the cheque was Thurlby Motors' Finance Director, Gail Smith.

She said: "We have been long-term supporters of Andy's at St Andrew's and we like to do all we can to support their important work with local children.

"Our charity ball night has become an annual event where we raise money for the charity and we are delighted to hand over this cheque."

Over 90 people attended the event at Kenwick Park and Gail spoke of her delight at the support.

"We have raised more money than last year, which is fantastic news," she said.

"That is in no small part to some fantastic donations we received for the auction, including a signed Grimsby Town FC football shirt that raised over £100.

"We would like to thank everyone that turned up to support the event and we hope to be doing something similar in 2018."

Upon receiving the donation at Thurlby Motors' Louth base on Tattershall Way, Alison added:

"We would like to thank Thurlby Motors for their continued support of Andy's at St Andrew's Hospice.

"This substantial donation will go towards providing continued support for young people in the local area."
