The firm has made a £500 donation.

Young’s Seafood’s Marsden Road site has donated £500 to St Andrew’s Hospice.

Employees agreed to reinvest their attendance incentive bonus and give it to a different charity each month. They are asked to nominate charities to receive the funds, and the St Andrew’s Hospice was nominated to receive the donation by one of the company’s employees, whose family member has recently been cared for by the hospice.

Senior HR advisor Sam Tucker, Joint Consultative Group members Michael Kendrick and Steve Yull, and site director Terry Tuplin visited the hospice, in Peaks Lane, Grimsby, to present the money.

Jane Whenham-White, head of income generation at St Andrew’s, said: “We are so grateful for the support of colleagues from Young's Seafood. It costs £4.1-million each year to run both our adult and children’s services, and we receive 18 per cent statutory funding, so we are reliant on supporters to make donations and keep the hospice open.”
