Volunteers are the backbone of the hospice and we would not function without you. Join our family of more than 450 people, who work across every area.
Your commitment can take up as little or as much time as you wish. Volunteers must be aged 16 or over and for posts based onsite, a DBS check is required.

Could you give four days a year and become an events volunteer?
We hold four major events a year, including an annual Sparkle Walk and a Motorbike Run around Lincolnshire. We need a pool of people who can commit to giving just four days a year to assist with these events. It could be marshalling, helping serve refreshments or even dressing up as a ghost for the spooky annual Scare Hike… all support is welcomed.
Where possible, we would also like people to sign up to provide pre-event support. This could be posting leaflets through the doors on your street, putting up posters, sharing social media posts or flyering in a town centre.
You will be given clear instructions and a defined role, and all dates will be pre-planned with timings and locations.
The events will all take place on weekends; two are daytime events and two take place on evenings. Each event should last no longer than five hours.

The hospice’s Ebay store lists hundreds of items each week to ensure we achieve the best possible value for the items we receive.
We are looking for volunteers to join our Ebay team, from listers and packers to photographers.
You do not have to be familiar with Ebay, nor do you have to be computer-literate.

Do you have previous experience of working in care or supporting people? If so, we are looking for you!
We are looking for volunteers who have excellent communication skills and who would like to support people in a variety of activities promoting independence and enabling them to achieve their desired outcomes through our Wellbeing programme which runs Monday through to Friday. The role will involve meeting and greeting patients arriving for their sessions, preparation of drinks trolley, assisting patients with drinks and getting their lunch whilst enabling them to remain independent, support patients in a variety of activities when required, support patients by listening. We are also looking for volunteers to set up and run a social coffee morning and a games afternoon for patients and carers . Do you have previous experience of working in a front facing customer services role or who has in interest in supporting people? If so, we are looking for you!
We are looking for volunteers who have excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with IT skills as will be required to access computer programmes. The role will involve meeting and greeting patients arriving for their appointments, ensuring the patient is in the right place at the right time, offering and preparing refreshments when required, assisting the therapy staff in the preparation of therapy rooms/gym/pool and bathroom areas when requested and assist patients as required by the therapy staff. Do you have previous Administration experience in a healthcare environment? If you are looking for a way to use your skills we may have a new challenge for you!
We are looking for administration volunteers preferably with experience in a healthcare environment. Excellent IT skills and the ability to work as part of a small team are essential. Tasks include setting up files and filing, photocopying, data entry, scanning and liaising with the clinical teams. Our clinical administration office is a fast paced environment where your skills would help to support us in the delivery of a first class service to the clinical teams. Do you have previous Reception or customer service/office experience? If so, we are looking for you!
We need volunteers who have excellent customer service skills and are computer literature. Our reception is manned from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on weekends and bank holidays through a flexible rota system.
Tasks include acknowledging appointments through our patient record system, answering telephones, signposting callers, taking donations, greeting visitors and being the starting point for any visitor or caller to the Hospice.

We're looking for volunteers to join our Retail team in Barton-upon-Humber.
We recently opened a shop in the Market Place, and have been warmly welcomed by the community.

The hospice runs retail outlets throughout Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire.
Each of our outlets raises vast amounts of money from goods donated by local people and families. Our retail assistants undertake a range of tasks, including till processing, stock rotation, cleaning and general merchandising duties.
