Hospice at Home

Hospice at Home is our holistic programme of activities and care options that have been designed to enhance our patients’ wellbeing and improve their quality of life.

Taking place in the patient’s home, in the hospice or another community setting, we aim to offer our patients experiences that they will treasure and that will help to improve their independence, whilst also helping develop families’ coping strategies.

Respite at Home

This can include supporting families with trips and appointments, delivering therapeutic play activities and giving parents time to attend appointments or spend with any other children they may have.

Children who are fully or partially home-educated can benefit from a weekly home education day (during term time) at the hospice. This improves socialisation for these children as well as supporting their learning and providing them the chance to attend educational trips accompanied by members of their care team.

Family days

A programme of specialist events designed to meet the medical and holistic needs of individual patients. Children and their families will be invited to attend clinical days with a specific focus (e.g. oncology), and can choose from a range of fun-filled family events such as the family splash days that take place in our hydrotherapy pool.

Day care

We offer pre-bookable day care at settings throughout the region, so you never have to travel too far to access our specialist care.

Therapeutic group sessions

We offer a range of therapeutic and creative groups relevant to you and your child’s needs; including art, music and life-skills.

Family and professional education

A programme of educational events for families and other professionals, allowing everyone involved in a child’s care to access the latest research and best-practice examples of how to apply it when caring for a child with a life-limiting condition.
