We had the first few events on our Christmas calendar this past week at St Andrew's Hospice.
On Thursday 21st November we launched the 'Tree of Love' at the Freshney Place Shopping Centre Christmas light switch on. This year we wanted to encourage the local community to share a "message for someone you hold dear". These messages were written on a lovely wooden heart made to hang on the tree for all to see. This continued through the evening on Thursday, as well as Friday & Saturday lunchtimes.
Our Fundraising & Events Co-ordinator, Alison Lark said "We really wanted to do something special in our 40th anniversary year, and the Tree of Love seems like a fantastic way for people to share their Christmas wishes and festive cheer with one another."
We then continued the festivities on Saturday 23rd November, where we transformed the St Andrew's Hospice Hub in to Christmas gift paradise with our annual Christmas Fayre. The fayre ran over both Saturday and Sunday where plenty of local businesses joined in and sold they're amazing hand crafted and homemade goods. These included an assortment of handmade crafts, jewellery and homemade preserves. As always we would like to thank all of the local businesses which took part and helped make the weekend a complete success.
For those who are interest in getting involved with our Christmas festivities here at the hospice, please take a look at our Christmas events diary here.
We have multiple events scheduled throughout December including Light Up A Life, Louth Male Voice Choir Carol Evening and Christmas Jumper day!
