A new wedding, prom and special occasion department has opened in the Andy’s at St Andrew’s Hospice retail outlet in Louth.

The charity is boasting designer dresses, suits and accessories at affordable prices, with some wedding outfits retailing at nearly £1,000 being available for less than £100.

And the hospice is also encouraging donations of unwanted dresses and suits to help keep the department sufficiently stocked.

Funds raised will go towards supporting the running costs of the hospice on Peaks Lane in Grimsby, which supports children suffering from life-limiting illnesses and their families from across Lincolnshire and the East Riding, as well as adult patients in North East Lincolnshire.

The department is the latest initiative from the hospice’s growing retail arm, which currently covers 22 outlets throughout Lincolnshire and Hull.

Head of Retail Tom Ryan said: “St Andrews’ retail offering is now a vital part of the hospice’s incomes streams, with shop and tea bar income rising 19 per cent between 2017 and 2018.

“We recognise the need for a charity retail focus in this area and have already been wowed by the generous donations of wedding, prom and special occasion outfits.

“Louth is the perfect location for us to trial this enterprise and we’ll watch with interest how popular the offering will be.

“The department is still evolving and we welcome any feedback or suggestions, following your visit.”

For more information on the wedding and prom dress department, please visit the Andy’s Louth outlet on Queen Street in the Lincolnshire town or call 01507 604 675.
