Once in the portal you can either login or register for an account which will enable you to link directly to our database to see any transactions, donations or communication you have made with the Hospice.
We are keeping a close eye on Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates and advice from the Government and Public Health to make sure our actions follow current guidance to protect the health and wellbeing of our whole community, from our patients and their families, to our workforce and suppliers.
Our community is at the centre of everything we do. Our priority is, and will remain, protecting everyone involved in the hospice whilst providing care for those in need of our services.
With this in mind, we have had to change our normal practices to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone associated with St Andrew’s Hospice.
There is no access to the hospice site for any member of the public, other than those visiting a close family member or friend as detailed below. This includes the Hub café and the Retreat hair studio.
Our adult inpatient unit remains open to end of life patients as normal. We are also continuing to provide care to those in need of treatment to manage their symptoms, where they have tried and are unable to achieve a satisfactory level of comfort at home.
All of our wellbeing groups are postponed until further notice. This applies to all of the services listed below:
We are still offering respite stays to provide support for the most vulnerable of our young patients and their families.
Our day services are cancelled until further notice.
We have reviewed the ongoing situation, and made the difficult decision to cease open visiting arrangements until further notice, in an effort to reduce footfall coming through the site.
* Visiting times are restricted to 4-6pm
* Two identified people are able to visit each patient. We request that the same two people visit each day, rather than taking in turns. Although we know that this is not ideal, the less footfall we have to the hospice, the more able we are to control the risk of infection.
* Upon entry, please buzz through to the inpatient unit so a member of our team can let you in. Please be patient, as there may not be someone available immediately, but rest assured we are on our way.
* Any alternative arrangements requested by a patient will be discussed with the Nurse in Charge, whose decision must be respected.
Events and fundraising
Unfortunately we have had to make the decision to cancel all hospice events planned for the next two months, which includes all quizzes, bingo nights, the Easter Fayre and the Tractor Run at Market Rasen.
We are monitoring the situation with regards to Sparkle Walk scheduled June and will be able to confirm our plans for this event in the near future.
The health and safety of our employees, volunteers, customers and surrounding communities is of upmost importance to us, and so today (21 March 2020) we made the difficult decision to close all of our shops and tea bars until further notice.
We are still accepting donations at our other stores and will be providing details of ways you can make contactless donations over the next week on our social media
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to our shops when the situation permits.
Staff and volunteers
Our staff and volunteers are our most precious resource and vital to ensuring we can continue to care for our patients and the wider community. We have individually assessed every member of our workforce based at the hospice site are making every effort to find ways of working that protect everyone’s health and wellbeing, whilst enabling them to continue to do the fantastic work they do. We are also assessing all team members who continue to work in our shops.
We would like to thank every member of our workforce for the support they are showing to the hospice, our patients and each other at this time.
