As one of the local leading providers of palliative and end of life care, St Andrew’s Hospice is a highly successful and forward-thinking charity with a turnover of c£5m, offering both adult and children’s services. With an excellent reputation both in the local community and beyond, we reach over 800 patients and their families in North East Lincolnshire and our wider catchment area of Lincolnshire, Hull and East Yorkshire for our children’s services.  

 

In addition, our purpose built hospice houses a growing community hub which offers practical and holistic support through specialist clinics, bereavement support services, carer groups and complementary therapies to outpatients as well as being open to the local community. Some of these services have seen significant impact due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the team are being innovative and adapting their ways of working to continue to reach out and support very vulnerable people.

 

We are seeking up to two new Trustee Directors to join our existing board. All candidates who are able to offer time, energy, and feel confident supporting the charity at a strategic level are welcome to apply. We are particularly keen to hear from people with expertise in:

  • Charity Law/Legal issues relating to health or the voluntary sector
  • Strategic IT expertise including Software / Digital Platforms / Technology or Web Development.

You don’t have to have knowledge or experience of running a hospice to be a Trustee Director – the skills you have gained from other sectors or roles may be just as useful, and you can be sure that you will learn new skills as a member of our Board.  We are especially keen to hear from people who have strategic high level experience of a customer focussed business.

 

It’s an exciting time to be joining St Andrew’s Hospice as we have ambitious plans to develop our services. There are certainly plenty of challenges ahead, not only in light of the current pandemic, but as service demands continue to rise and funding comes under increasing pressure, we still remain focussed on a shared pursuit of excellence.
