Little Miss Teen East Yorkshire raises thousands for Andy's

Meet Annie. She has been fundraising for Andy's after being paired with us through Together For Short Lives.

Sarah, Annie’s mum, explained: “Annie is a finalist in Miss Teen Great Britain, and she became Little Miss Teen East Yorkshire. Their chosen charity is Together For Short Lives and when Annie researched and discovered they help poorly children, she decided she wanted to try and raise some money, and it’s just gone from there really!”

It's been a busy year for her so far after hosting various fundraising events such as raffles and coffee mornings as well as running a tuck shop at her school and selling eggs at the front of her house. She has also been nominated for the BBC Radio Humberside Make a Difference award for the great work she has been doing. As of June 2025, she has raised an absolutely amazing £6000!

Annie said: "I never thought I would raise as much money as I have. Now that I've raised this much, I want to keep going and raise more. After I met some patients, I realised how much the charity needs and how much they do, they do amazing work!

“My favourite fundraising event so far has been the coffee morning, because not only did I get to try the cake, I got to raise lots of money! We also did a tombola and bingo.”

As well as raising money, she has kindly bought and donated things to the hospice throughout the year from kids toys to easter eggs.

Annie concluded: “You can fundraise at any age. You just have to find something fun you know you’ll enjoy. It’s really hard, but keep going! Just don’t give up! Start with small little fun things and then work your way up to big fun things. I have also got the local newspapers behind me who write monthly stories about what fundraising I have done and what fundraising I have coming up. It's free and a great way to get people to find out what you’re doing.”
