Allied Protek has donated a huge amount of Clarins and Lancôme make-up and beauty products to our team in The Retreat, the hospice’s on-site hair, nail, beauty and therapy spa.
The funds were raised at their Christmas party last year, in which employees entry fees were put towards a charity. Allied Protek chose to help St Andrew’s Hospice when they became aware of the different therapies and treatments that were on offer within The Retreat. They were eager to contribute additional beauty products.
Kristy Masterson is a Complementary Therapist within The Retreat at the hospice, which offers all kinds of treatments from Mother and Daughter Pamper Sessions and reiki to facials and makeovers!
Kristy said: “We are overwhelmed with Allied Protek’s generosity and want to know truly what a difference being able to offer more makeovers will make!”
Often when a person is ill, they don’t have the energy to apply make-up or skincare, however the effects that an improved body image has on a person’s self-confidence is increased hugely when they are given a makeover and a bit of pampering.
Paul Wilson, Capital Projects Director at Allied Protek, said: “It’s a small element that can help in a big way and services such as these can go unnoticed in the big scheme of things in a place like the hospice.”
Emma Wilson, Business Support, said: “Being able to offer a pamper session can make all the difference to a patient’s wellbeing. We are delighted to give the hospice these products from all of the staff at Allied Protek.”
Allied Protek have provided the team with hundreds of pounds worth of brand new, top of the range products for use within The Retreat. They chose to help St Andrew’s Hospice because they had seen the work that Kristy and the team carry out for the patients and they also wanted to choose somewhere local to donate their funds raised by the Christmas party.
