It is important that we take reasonable steps to protect those using our services, our staff and our volunteers during the current and ever-changing situation regarding Coronavirus.
We appreciate that this a very difficult and unprecedented situation and we are doing our best to minimise disruption to patient care. We do, however, need to take steps to safeguard our patients and workforce from the potential spread of Coronavirus and ask for your support in taking the following actions if you visit a patient at St Andrew's Hospice:
We respectfully ask that anyone experiencing any of the symptoms associated with Coronavirus does not visit the hospice site. If you are experiencing symptoms, please call us on 01472 350908 and we will arrange for you to talk to your loved one over the phone.
If you intend on visiting family members we request that you take due care and precaution and follow the below steps:
Wash your hands
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds. If you cannot access soap and water, use hand gel with over 60% ethanol content. Always wash your hands when you arrive at the hospice and when you leave including entering and exiting patient bedrooms. Ensure all other people with you do the same too. If you are unsure where the nearest hand washing facility is, please ask a member of staff who will be happy to help you.
Catch coughs and sneezes in tissues
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough or sneeze. Put used tissues in the bin straight away, and wash your hands afterwards.
Avoid touching your face
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid unnecessary contact
Avoid any unnecessary physical contact with each other, including shaking hands.
Thank you for your understanding.
