Grimsby-based IT company LCS Group revealed the winner of their 2018/19 Charity Race Car Cup challenge, as part of St Andrew’s Hospice corporate fundraising event, held on Tuesday 9 April at the hospice on Peaks Lane in the North East Lincolnshire town.

Joseph Ireland from Coldstar Systems, also in Grimsby, clocked a rapid time of 1:29:485 to scoop the first prize of a meal for two at a restaurant in North East Lincolnshire, to the value of £100.

The Charity Race Car Cup has also raised £2,000 for Andy’s – the children’s unit at the hospice.

Glenn Thow, Managing Director of LCS Group presented the award to Joseph and a cheque for £2,000 to St Andrew’s Hospice Chief Executive, Michelle Rollinson.

“Andy’s is a charity that touches the hearts of many of us at LCS,” said Glenn.

“We think the Charity Race Car Cup is a bit of a different way to raise funds for Andy’s and we have enjoyed going out to different local businesses, or hosting them at our office, and also spreading the word of the hospice’s work.

“Joey has posted a fantastic time and we hope that he enjoys his meal at whichever restaurant he chooses to visit.”

The Charity Race Car Cup is hosted at LCS Group offices Monday-Friday, 09:00-16:00. All interested participants are asked to book in advance via the website (https://www.lcsgroup.com/andys/) or telephone 0330 8384 255.
