During the past year the Business Hive Grimsby team and a very special young man have been hard at work fundraising for Andy's at St Andrew’s Hospice.
During summer 2018, eight-year-old Lucas from Cleethorpes attended the Business Hive to gain experience in the workplace. After showing a great eye of business, and had a very special idea which involved Andy’s Children’s Hospice at the heart of his fundraising. Business Hive Managing Director Mark Webb explained further.
“Lucas came into the Business Hive and thought we should produce a bear hat our members bought and the funds raised could support sick children.”
Mark continued: “I thought it was a tremendous idea and one we should immediately put into action and the children’s unit at St Andrew’s Hospice seemed like the perfect charity to support.”
Lucas – the Business Hive bear was then unveiled at the Business Hive Live event at the Grimsby Auditorium on Tuesday 2nd October 2018. Since then he has been a regular attendee at Business Hive’s First Tuesday events, and the last of the bears were sold at St Andrew’s recent corporate fundraiser.
We wanted to say thanks to Lucas and the incredible efforts he has made for St Andrew’s Hospice. Therefore, we presented him with the last of the Lucas bears, framed with honour.
Altogether Lucas managed to raise over £655.50, this amount will go towards providing specialist care for those living with life-limiting illnesses whilst in our residence.
