Ultimate Packaging’s Ultimate Challenge fundraiser for St Andrew’s Hospice 40th anniversary continued at the charity’s recent corporate fundraising event, held at their Peaks Lane site in Grimsby.
Chris Tonge, Managing Director of UItimate Packaging, took to a special spinning bike to complete a 20-kilometre challenge, as part of the latest event in the yearlong fundraiser, which is seeing staff at the Europarc-based business completing 40 challenges in 2019.
“We are hoping to raise £40,000 for St Andrew’s – £1,000 for every year that the hospice has been providing services,” said Chris.
“We will be doing this through 40 different fundraising events, again one for every year that the hospice has been in existence.”
The Ultimate Challenge started in earnest in February, when the Ultimate Packaging Team held a staff bake-off and bake sale at their offices on the Europarc, near Grimsby.
“St. Andrew’s Hospice does a fantastic job,” added Chris.
“It provides holistic care for children and young people living in Lincolnshire, Hull and East Riding.
“All the children and young people in its care have progressive life limiting illnesses.
“The hospice aims to improve quality of life, to bring fun into their everyday routines by providing specialist medical and nursing care and to keep them smiling. Extensive help and support is also offered to their families and carers.”
Becky Darnell, Charity Fundraising and Campaigns Lead for the hospice said about The Ultimate Challenge: “We are delighted that Chris Tonge and the team at Ultimate are planning a fundraising campaign for St Andrew’s.
“The funds already raised from their contacts is a fantastic amount! Without the generosity of local companies and individuals we could not continue to provide the level of care that we do, so please get behind Chris and his Ultimate Challenge!”
