DH Tuck sponsors Sunrise Sparkle

We are delighted to announce local accountants DH Tuck & Co Limited as our main event sponsor for this year’s Sunrise Sparkle Walk.

Andrew Moorby, Managing Director at DH Tuck & Co Limited, spoke to us about how a visit to St Andrew’s Hospice changed his perception of what hospice care can deliver to the local community.

Andrew said: "I’d heard of the brilliant work the hospice does. As a local business owner, I was keen to give back and support the wider community.

"I had the pleasure of visiting, and there was a music workshop on for people diagnosed with dementia, along with their carers. The staff were amazing; they all walked around with smiles on their faces and were so accommodating.

"Having had the opportunity to walk around Andy’s Children’s Unit, they have everything that small infants require, up to what young adults need."

Andrew added: "It is a pleasure to support such a wonderful, worthwhile cause that does so much for the local community and beyond.
I have to say, whilst I was aware of the support services offered by St Andrew’s Hospice, my overriding perception was one of end-of-life care. How wrong was I."

Natalie Lingard, Events Fundraiser and Coordinator, said she is "so thankful" for DH Tuck & Co Limited’s support for this year’s Sunrise Sparkle Walk.

Natalie added: "I’d noticed DH Tuck were increasingly active in the local community, so I reached out to Andy to offer a tour of the hospice. He learned more about what we do, and I could see his perception shift.

"By the end of the visit, he kindly offered for DH Tuck to be the main event sponsor for the Sunrise Sparkle Walk."

Andrew concluded by emphasising how important it is for everyone to get involved in supporting hospice care throughout their communities.

"My perception of the hospice as a place for supporting people with cancer treatment has changed to one of a big community, which offers so much more. Hospice care shouldn’t be something that relies so heavily on the generosity of individuals and businesses alike.

"Most of the income comes from donations and sponsorship. Moreover, it makes me happier to support St Andrew’s Hospice with this year’s Sunrise Sparkle Walk.

"I would urge anybody, individuals or businesses to come together and get involved in the Sunrise Sparkle Walk. Support the hospice with any donations no matter how big or small, they will make a difference."
